Forever retains Classic Era pets with several changes: new Fox , Owl renamed Bird of Prey , 8 families each gain a new ability. All pets share a base attack speed, adjusted by each beast's passive. The beast you tame still determines how quickly your pet attacks.
Choose a family to see its strengths, diet and abilities. Damage, armor and health are compared with a same-level beast without a family. Ability ranks are shown for pets at level 20 (the beta level cap).

* No official Chinese name is available yet. Chinese translations are provisional; the released game's names take precedence.
Attack Speed
All pets in Forever have a base attack interval of 2.0 seconds, modified by their innate passives: Swift Attacks I–VII or Slow Attacks II–III. These modifiers reproduce the same beast's Classic Era attack speed, matching beta taming reports. Beta players also report that slower pets do not currently gain proportionally higher damage per hit, so faster pets deal more damage. Whether this is intentional remains unclear.
The number below each interval is the count of beasts at that speed. Select an interval to filter the list above.
How to Train Your Pet
Training works as in Classic Era. To teach your pet an ability:
Tame a beast that knows the ability. The Learnable Abilities column above lists which beasts know each rank.
Fight alongside it until you learn the ability. Learning only produces a yellow message without the rank, which is easy to miss.
Switch back to your own pet and teach it using Beast Training. Abilities cost training points. Pet trainers also offer general abilities such as Growl and resistances, which likewise cost training points.
Loyalty Training requires loyalty: your pet must gain a loyalty level before it can be trained. Players commonly report that loyalty increases slowly.
Taming Level You can tame beasts up to 2 levels above your own. Beast Lore, learned at level 24, reveals a beast's abilities before taming.
Known Issues Pets from around Zephras Isle, including Valdren foxes and cranes, have reportedly lost abilities after dismissal or relogging. This is a beta issue, not an intended mechanic.
Data Sources
Families, diets, abilities, ranks, learning levels, descriptions and attack-speed passives come from the Forever beta client (build 1.60.1.69913 ) and are compared with the Classic Era client (build 1.15.9.69722 ).
Family damage, armor and health modifiers come from that family's Tamed Pet passive in the beta client.
