WoW Forever raresWhere they spawn and what they drop

In WoW Forever, rares are worth the detour again. Humar, Swiftmane and Takk the Leaper, the Barrens rares every Classic player knows, now each drop a piece of a set that makes you faster in the Barrens. A new elite that patrols the Wetlands drops the innards that buy Malignant Root, a ring any level can wear. And every starting zone has new rares of its own, several of them new pets for hunters.

What to know
A patrol that follows the main river of the Wetlands from the foot of the dam down to the coast and back, sometimes north. Two were up at once near 49, 33 on the night of September 22. It can be slowed and kited. Horde can loot the innards, but no Horde turn-in has been found: Rethiel is Alliance.

The black lion under the big tree just north of Ratchet, where the pride of lions sleeps, as in Classic. His respawn was long in Classic: players waited eight to twelve hours. Hunters can tame it (cat): see hunter pets.

A night elf scout, as in Classic: she rides the road of the southern Barrens from Bael Modan, around 48, 80, north past Camp Taurajo to about 45, 42, and back. The Alliance Outrunner's Sword, a new item named after her title, is probably hers as well; nobody has reported it yet.

What to know
Level 23. He turns up in three places of the Redridge Mountains: Render’s Valley in the south-east, around 74, 82, Stonewatch Keep, around 63, 43, and Render’s Camp in the north, around 36, 9. Wowhead’s spots for him partly date from Season of Discovery, which had him too, and its loot list does not have the tunic yet.

Rider of the Plaguelands

The set is in the beta client, but its three pieces are not: their names and what drops them are unknown. The Plaguelands are level 50 to 60, past the beta's cap. The Barrens set comes from the Barrens' rares, so the Plaguelands' rares are the likely source; nobody has confirmed it.
